If you listen to the show, you probably like history, and we want to give you a voice! Maybe there’s a place you loved visiting, maybe you just read a book about someone awesome like Harriet Tubman or Michelangelo, or maybe there’s a special event in your hometown you think people would think is interesting. Tell us, and if you audio clip is great, we’ll include it on a future episode.
Here’s how we think it’s gonna work:
- You tell us about a place, person, or thing from history that you think is cool or important. Educate us; Tell us why in 30 seconds.
- Use your smartphone to record your segment (we use iPhone’s VoiceMemo app with good results). Try it several times to make sure we can hear everything clearly. If the quality is bad, we can’t use it.
- YOU HAVE 30 SECONDS! NO MORE! Part of the fun is squeezing it in!
- Kids do the writing and the reading.
- Parents or guardians do the recording and emailing.
- Along with the recording, tell us your first name, and city (if you want to include that).
- Email the 30 second audio file to hello@thepastandthecurious.com
- We recommend writing exactly what you’re going to say, practicing that, and then making the recording.
- If we use yours, we’ll send you The Past and The Curious stickers!
Maybe you teacher will give you extra credit…

Harvey Chen
Hi, my name is Harvey Chen. I’m from New York. Did you know that Mickey Mantle got hurt in a high school football practice? His bone got infected so doctors wanted to cut his leg off but a drug saved his leg and Baseball career.
